The present invention relates to an isolated anti-FcRn antibody which is an antibody specific for FcRn (Neonatal Fc Receptor, abbreviation for fetal Fc receptor, FcRP, FcRB or Brambell receptor) which is a receptor having high affinity to IgG, A composition for treating an autoimmune disease comprising the antibody, and a method for treating and diagnosing an autoimmune disease using the antibody. The FcRn-specific antibody according to the present invention can be used for the treatment of auto-immune disease by non-recombinantly binding FcRn to IgG, thereby reducing the amount of anti-autoantibodies in blood.본 발명은 IgG에 고친화성을 갖는 수용체인 FcRn(Neonatal Fc Receptor의 약자로, 태아 Fc-수용체, FcRP, FcRB 또는 Brambell 수용체라고도 불린다)에 특이적인 항체인 분리된 항-FcRn 항체, 이의 제조방법, 상기 항체를 포함하는 자가면역질환 치료용 조성물 및 상기 항체를 이용한 자가면역질환의 치료 및 진단 방법에 대한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 FcRn 특이적 항체는 FcRn에 IgG와 비경합적으로 결합하여 혈중 내 병인성 자가항체의 양을 감소시킴으로써 자가면역질환(auto-immune disease)에 대한 치료에 활용 가능하다.
