A side-shift attachment 16 for a tractor (12, Figure 1) comprises a first mounting member 18 engagable with the tractor and a second mounting member 20 engagable with a towable attachment (14, Figure 1) for the tractor. An actuation means, which may be a pair of opposed horizontal hydraulic actuators, permits horizontal relative displacement between the first and second mounting members 18, 20. In one most preferred arrangement, at least one ground-engagement element 24, for example a pair of soil-penetrating discs at opposing ends of first mounting member 18, is attached to first mounting member 18 to limit lateral movement of the tractor during operation of the actuation means. Alternatively or additionally, a GPS actuator controller may be provided to control relative motion of mounting members 18, 20, while further alternatively or additionally openings may be provided in mounting members 18, 20 through which a power take-off shaft may pass.
