Methods and compositions are hereby disclosed for enhancing weight gain and feed efficiency in a bird, such as a chicken, a turkey, or a laying hen, among others. The methods include administering to the bird a lactic acid producing bacterium (LAB) or combination of LABs. The disclosed methods and compositions also help reduce pathogen infection in the bird and reduce incidence of pathogen contamination in eggs produced by laying hens.L'invention concerne des procédés et des compositions pour l'amélioration du gain pondéral et de l'efficacité de l'alimentation chez un oiseau tel qu'un poulet, une dinde ou une poule pondeuse, parmi d'autres.
