In order to provide an easy-to-use technique for measuring blood pressure and/or other vital signs of a subject, a sensor for detecting the passing of a pulse wave from a subjects arterial system is suggested, the sensor being adapted to be located at a sensing position on the exterior of the subjects body, characterized in that the sensor comprises a number of electrical coils for generating an inductive coupling to the subjects body in a way that the properties of said inductive coupling change if a pulse wave passes a screened volume underneath the sensing position, and a circuit connected to the number of electrical coils, said circuit being adapted to detect said property changes of the inductive coupling.Linvention a pour objectif de proposer une technique dutilisation facile permettant de mesurer la pression sanguine et/ou dautres signes vitaux dun sujet. Linvention concerne un détecteur permettant de détecter le passage dune onde dimpulsion provenant du système artériel dun sujet et conçu pour pouvoir être installé en position de détection à lextérieur du corps du sujet. Ledit détecteur est caractérisé en ce quil comprend un nombre de bobines électriques générant un couplage inductif au corps du sujet de façon à ce que les propriétés dudit couplage inductif changent si une onde dimpulsion passe par un volume criblé sous la position de détection ainsi quun circuit connecté au nombre de bobines électriques, ledit circuit pouvant détecter lesdits changements de propriétés du couplage inductif.
