The composition consists of liquid pharmaceutical formulation comprisingnicotine in any form for administration essentially to the lungs. Theformulation is acidified and/or alkalized by buffering and/or pH regulation,which provides a tmax of nicotine in arterial blood of a subject within ashort period of time after administration. The administration preferablyimplies spraying an aerosol into the oral cavity for further distribution,essentially to the lungs. A method for manufacturing the formulation is alsoincluded, as well as use of the formulation in therapy, e.g. for treatingaddiction to tobacco.
