An aerosol delivery device comprises a fluid-transfer article, and at least a first casing. The fluid-transfer article includes a reservoir for holding an aerosol precursor, a wick which receives aerosol precursor from that reservoir, and a wick support element. The reservoir is within the first casing, and the wick support element is integral with that first casing. The wick support element has at least one bore therethrough for the passage of aerosol precursor from the reservoir to the wick. Thus, the wick is supported by a component which may be formed simultaneously with the structure which contains the reservoir, which component also allows aerosol precursor to pass from the reservoir to the wick. The aerosol delivery device also has a heater, which makes abutting unbonded contact with an activation surface of the wick so as to interact thermally with that activation surface. Thus, when the heater is active, aerosol precursor which reaches the activation surface will be heated, from the vapour which then may pass to the user.
