PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the decomposition reaction of harmful substances in raw water by dissolving harmful substances in air in the raw water and applying both electrolysis and ultraviolet irradiation to the raw water and as a result, to improve the efficiency in removing harmful substances in air.SOLUTION: The air cleaning apparatus includes a casing, a gas-liquid contact chamber, a raw water feeding means, a storing means, an electrolysis means, and an ultraviolet irradiation means. The gas-liquid contact chamber is disposed between an air intake and an air exhaust within the casing to bring a gas into contact with raw water. The storing means is connected to the gas-liquid contact chamber of the casing via a first channel and a second channel. Raw water is fed from the gas-liquid contact chamber to the storing means via the first channel, and raw water is fed from the storing means to the raw water feeding means via the second channel. The electrolysis means and the ultraviolet irradiation means are disposed within the storing means or in the second channel.
