PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system that effectively prevents biting damage of cultured algae by algae-eating fish in culturing algae.SOLUTION: An algae culture system 10 comprises: (a) at least one algae holding member 6 (b) a supporting member which supports the algae holding member 6 such that at least one algae holding member 6 is arranged on a water surface 8 or in the vicinity thereof in a fish farm and (c) a biting damage preventive net 7 which prevents biting damage of algae by algae-eating fish 18 in the fish farm, in which the biting damage preventive net 7 is arranged so as to cover at least one algae holding member 6 from below in the fish farm, the biting damage preventive net 7 and the algae holding member 6 are arranged apart from each other to a degree where algae growing on the algae holding member 6 do not suffer biting damage by the algae-eating fish 18, and the biting damage preventive net 7 is constituted of a mesh with 5.5 cm to 19 cm of a mesh size.
