Disclosed are salts and crystalline forms of the compound 4-(4-{ [2-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethylcyclohex-1-en-1-yl]methyl} piperazin-1-yl)-N-({ 3-nitro-4-[(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-ylmethyl)amino]phenyl} sulfonyl)-2-(1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-5-yloxy)benzamide (abstract figure). The crystalline forms include anhydrates, hydrates, dichloromethane solvate, ethyl acetate solvate, acetonitrile solvate, acetone and tetrahydrofuran. The salts include hydrochloride and sulfate. The disclosure also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the salts and crystalline forms and methods for treating diseases characterised by apoptotic dysfunction and/or overexpression of an anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family protein by using the salts and crystalline forms herein.
