PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support diagnosis in higher accuracy when making quantitative diagnosis of a bronchial tube region.SOLUTION: A medical image processing apparatus includes a pulmonary artery extraction part, an existence probability calculation part, and an emphasis image generation part. The pulmonary artery extraction part extracts a pulmonary artery region from a medical image. The existence probability calculation part calculates the existence probability of a bronchial tube region from the pulmonary artery region extracted in the pulmonary artery extraction part. The emphasis image generation part generates the image emphasizing the bronchial tube region on the basis of the existence probability calculated by the existence probability calculation part.
