The invention relates to the field of medicine and specifically to medicinal agents for treating arthrological diseases. The foundation of the present medicinal agent comprises sodium salt of chondroitin sulfate a mucopolysaccharide derived from animal tissue. The preparation affects metabolic processes in connective tissue including in cartilage stimulating and normalizing the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans. The essence consists in producing a medicinal agent by using an Na salt of chondroitin sulfate having a characteristic viscosity () of 0.01 0.15 m3/kg and an absence of peptides. The result consists in producing a medicinal agent which corresponds to the requirements applied to preparations containing mucopolysaccharides and specifically chondroitin sulfate and which has practically no harmful side effects such as discomfort at the injection site induration and hemorrhage at the injection site and in rare cases infiltrates.
