A surgical instrument and attachable clamp, comprising:a) a surgical stapling apparatus (10b) havingi) an end effector (16b) including a cartridge assembly housing a plurality of staples and an anvil assembly； andii) an elongate portion (18b)；b) an attachable clamp (300) having:i) a body portion (330) defining a longitudinal axis and having attachment members (500) configured to attach to the elongate portion (18b) of the surgical stapling apparatus (10b)；ii) a first jaw member (310) extending distally from the body portion；iii) a second jaw member (320) extending distally from the body portion； andiv) an actuation mechanism (335) disposed in mechanical cooperation with at least one of the first jaw member (310) and the second jaw member (320), wherein actuation of the actuation mechanism (335) moves at least one of the first and second jaw members (310, 320) between an approximated position and an open position with respect to the other jaw member.
