The present invention relates to an artificial muscle fiber which is made by using a dielectric elastomer having an outstanding rate of reaction with muscular contraction and expansion and produces greater power than human muscle can attain. It includes artificial muscular unit fibers equipped with a center electrode, dielectric elastomers that extend along the radial direction from the outer surface of the center electrode, and a counter electrode that wraps around the outer surface of the dielectric elastomer. The artificial muscular unit fibers are twisted along a helix.
