An antibody that comprises an antigen-binding region that is specific for mesothelin (SEQ ID NO:370) and exhibits invariant binding of mesothelin. The antibody CDRs are selected from the CDR sequences listed in Table 7. The antibody can be used for the treatment of cancer where tumor cells over express mesothelin, in particular ovarian, mesothelioma, lung and pancreatic cancers.
