PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing nicotine-containing mucoadhesive film.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a nicotine-containing mucoadhesive film. Here, an aqueous solution having a pH of 9.5 to 13 is prepared, the solution comprising a film-forming agent including (i) a nicotine salt, (ii) an alkaline pH-adjusting agent, and (iii) a mixture of monovalent cation alginate or a monovalent cation alginate. The film-forming agent has an average guluronic acid (G) content of 50 to 85% by weight, an average mannuronic acid (M) content of 15 to 50% by weight, and an average molecular weight of from 30,000 to 90,000 g/mol, and the 10% aqueous solution thereof has a viscosity of 100 to 1000 mPas at a temperature of 20°C measured at a shear rate of 20 rpm using a Brookfield viscometer with a spindle No. 2.
