The present invention relates to a novel isolated Lactobacillus buchneri strain and to uses thereof, and more particularly, to a novel lactic acid bacterial strain having skin protection, wrinkle-alleviating and anti-inflammatory effects, and to a cosmetic composition, a pharmaceutical composition and a health functional food using the same. The strains, lysates thereof and cultures thereof according to the present invention minimize adverse effects of conventional wrinkle-alleviating agents and inflammation treatment agents, protect skin cells against exposure to ultraviolet radiation, which is a major cause of skin aging, and can effectively reduce or inhibit the enzyme causing the wrinkles of the skin, thereby being useful for preventing skin aging and alleviating wrinkles.
