A method for providing a film comprising pigment on keratin fibres comprises: (a) applying a composition to hair, wherein the composition comprises: an aminosilicone polymer, wherein the aminosilicone polymer comprises amino sidechains, and wherein the aminosilicone polymer has a weight average molecular weight of from 10,000 Dalton to 60,000 Dalton； a silicone resin which is a MQ resin； a thickening system comprising a thickening polymer； one or more pigments or one or more coloured materials； a solvent； and subsequently (b) applying a coating formulation onto the hair, wherein the coating formulation comprises a silicone resin and a volatile solvent； wherein the keratin fibres are not rinsed between steps (a) and (b).
