A method of treating a disease selected from the group consisting of emphysema, sepsis, septic shock, ischemic injury, cerebral ischemia, a neurodegenerative disorder, meningitis, encephalitis, hemorrhage, cerebral ischemia, heart ischemia and a cognitive deficit in a subject in need thereof is provided. The method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a combination of at least two or three of the following agents: an agent which upregulates an activity and/or expression of Nrf2, a glutamatergic modulator, an agent which upregulates an activity and/or expression of EAAT2 and an antioxidant, thereby treating the disease.Linvention concerne un méthode de traitement dune maladie choisie dans le groupe constitué de lemphysème, la septicémie, le choc septique, la lésion ischémique, lischémie cérébrale, les troubles neurodégénératifs, la méningite, lencéphalite, lhémorragie, lischémie cardiaque, lischémie cérébrale et un déficit cognitif chez un sujet en ayant besoin. Ladite méthode comprend ladministration au sujet dune quantité thérapeutiquement efficace dune combinaison dau moins deux ou trois des agents suivants : un agent qui régule à la hausse une activité et/ou expression de Nrf2, un modulateur glutamatergique, un agent qui régule à la hausse une activité et/ou expression dEAAT2 et un anti-oxydant, pour traiter la maladie.
