PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watching system with which it is possible to sense in early stages that the person being watched is about to enter a dangerous action in a bed and prevent an accident in and around the bed.SOLUTION: Provided is a watching system for detecting the getting-out-of-bed behavior of the person being watched who lies down along the long side of a rectangular bed, with the head placed on a predetermined short side of the bed. The watching system comprises: a thermal image information acquisition unit TG for acquiring data that indicates a temperature distribution in a prescribed area as thermal image information and having an infrared array sensor substrate on which a plurality of thermopile elements are arrayed in matrix form； and a getting-out-of-bed behavior determination unit GJ for determining the getting-out-of-bed behavior of the person being watched, on the basis of the thermal image information acquired by the thermal image information acquisition unit TG.
