PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which can follow to movement around legs, which can reduce discomfort during wearing, and excellent in lateral leakage prevention effect.SOLUTION: An absorbent article is configured so that: a width direction inside of a side sheet 7 is jointed to a lower layer side at an inside joint area 21, and a width direction outside is jointed to a lower layer side at an outside joint area 22； folding parts 23 formed by folding the side sheet 7 to the width direction are formed between the inside joint area 21 and the outside joint area 22； the folding parts 23 are folded in the width direction and the folded parts are jointed to the side sheet 7 at both end parts of the longitudinal direction； in a range in the longitudinal direction containing a wing-shaped flap W, a non-joint area 25 in which the side sheet 7 is not jointed to any member is formed between the inside joint area 21 and the outside joint area 22.
