A seed metering system (44) for metering a plurality of seeds includes a meter housing (52) having a front side (52A) and a rear side (52B) opposite and attached to the front side, a seed inlet (62) defined within the front side of the meter housing, and a seed disk (54) positioned within and rotatable relative to the meter housing. The seed disk has a first side (54B) in facing relation to the front side of the meter housing and a second side (54C) in facing relation to the rear side of the meter housing. The seed metering system further includes a seal (410) in contact with the front side (52A) of the meter housing and the first side (54B) of the seed disk.
