The invention relates to a process for dyeing and/or lightening keratin fibres using direct dyes of styryl or naphthylamide type bearing a hydroxy(C1-C18)alkyl group. The dyeing process and the composition according to the invention make it possible in particular to obtain long-lasting, intense, chromatic and/or homogeneous colouring on keratin fibres.Linvention concerne un procédé de coloration et/ou déclaircissement de fibres kératiniques au moyen de colorants directs de type styryle ou naphtylamide portant un groupe hydroxy (C1-C18 alkyle.
