The invention relates to a method and a device for measuring a signal amplitude for providing the module of the electrical impedance of a sample. According to the invention, said signal is sampled (step 43) at a sampling frequency lower than the Nyquist frequency. Then, the samples are distributed in a histogram (step 44), and the two most filled classes of the histogram (step 45) are searched for the signal amplitude (step 46). The invention provides a means of measuring bio-impedance energy saving. L'invention offre un moyen de mesure de bio-impédance économe en énergie.
