The present invention relates to a method of diagnosing the primary lesions that give rise to a chronic condition or incorrect structure in myofascial units and associated structures in a human patient. The invention also relates to a method of therapeutic treatment of the diagnosed conditions, in particular by application of a variable vaccum stimulus.
