PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new anti-inflammatory agent having high safety and a skin care preparation for anti-inflammation use.
SOLUTION: Provided are an anti-inflammatory agent containing the extract of Blechnum discolor belonging to the genus Blechnum, family Blechnaceae and order Filicales as an active component, and a skin care preparation for anti-inflammation use containing the anti-inflammatory agent. The anti-inflammatory agent has degranulation suppressing activity accompanying the isolation of &beta-hexosaminidase and, accordingly, is useful for suppressing or ameliorating inflammation caused by a pharmacologically active substance such as histamine included in the released granules.
