PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the deficit of a metal-to-metal type artificial coxa excellent in wear resistance that it lacks any shock relaxation ability by introducing a pain relieving material between the metal materials.SOLUTION: The artificial coxa includes an outer metallic cup fitted into the acetabulum and having its external surface cut off diagonally downward at about 45° and a cylindrical concavity formed within this externally cut surface and an inner cylindrical metallic sleeve rotatably and movably fitted into the outer cup cylindrical concavity, having its lower external surface cut off diagonally downward at about 45°, and having its metallic cylindrical inner sleeve contain a nearly hemispherical concavity, into which a thighbone head is fitted across the external cut surface in the way that the thighbone head can make precessional movements.
