PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling transplanter capable of eliminating a field region in which no seedling is planted when planting of seedlings is started after reversing. SOLUTION: The seedling transplanter includes: a planting device 3 in the rear of a travelling vehicle 1; a gear shifting lever 17; a planting operation lever 26 for shifting the gear to planting speed, neutral speed or moving speed; and a work shifter 56 for shifting the gear to the moving speed, neutral speed or planting speed according to the operation of the planting operation lever 26. The seedling transplanter also includes: a vertical movement sensor 48 for detecting the rising or lowering of the seedling planting device 3; a sensor 50 for detecting the operational position of the planting operation lever 26; a sensor 52 for detecting that the gear shifting lever 17 is at an advancing position or at a reversing position; and a shifting motor 57 for shifting the operation shifter 56 for operating a planter 41 to a neutral state when a control device 100 detects that the seedling planting device 3 is in a rising state and the vehicle 1 is reversing based on the signal of the sensor 52. With this structure, seedlings can be quickly planted when the vehicle advances, and a worker does not have to manually re-plant seedlings in places where planting of seedlings is missed, and as a result, labors of the worker can be relieved.
