For example, a flexible implantable occlusion device capable of navigating tortuous vessels of the neurovascular system is described herein. The occlusion device may also match the shape of the tortuous vessel of the vascular system. In some embodiments, the occlusion device can direct blood flow in the blood vessels away from the aneurysm, or restrict blood flow to the aneurysm. Some embodiments describe a method and apparatus for adjusting the porosity of a blockage device, along the length of the device. In some embodiments, the occlusion device allows appropriate blood flow to be provided to adjacent structures, whether the structures are branched vessels or oxygen demanding tissues, so that the required blood flow is not depleted. A plurality of stents may be used, for example, at least partially overlapping.
