In order to visually display the drying of endoscopes, accommodated in a drying cabinet, after they have been cleaned and/or disinfected, schematic endoscope representations assigned to the individual endoscopes are displayed in a display screen mask of a visual display program and, as the drying of the corresponding endoscopes proceeds, said representations are modified, particularly by filling-in of colour and/or by change of shape, so as to differ from the initial state of the drying procedure.
