PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital detector for X-ray photography and fluoroscopy.
SOLUTION: The detector (10) is equipped with a large-area flat panel, which is easily applicable to a conventional X-ray room Bucky tray. The detector utilizes an optical conductor layer (36), which detects an X-ray and transforms the energy of the X-ray to electric charges, and an active matrix thin film transistor (16) array in the form of a circuit, which is integrated in an extremely large area for reading out the electric charges. A double gate structure is used for the thin film transistor array, and here in order to provide the high-voltage protection of the thin film transistor array, a crowning gate is formed as the extension of a pixel electrode (12). An integrated pixel accumulation capacitor (14) is provided to enhance the absorption of the X-ray energy with a low pixel voltage, a low leak current, and a large charge leak time constant.
