PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants-type diaper in which weld strength in a side part is sufficiently secured.SOLUTION: An absorbent article manufacturing method at least includes the steps of: forming welding parts for welding abdominal side belt-like members and back side belt-like members on both sides of a cutting spot in a transfer direction and cutting the abdominal side belt-like members, the back side belt-like members and elastic members together at the cutting spot, separating abdominal side belt members and back side belt members from the abdominal side belt-like members and the back side belt-like members, and shrinking in the transfer direction at least a portion of the plurality of elastic members in a state of being expanded in the transfer direction from the spot where the elastic member is cut toward an adhesion area while relatively displacing the elastic member with respect to the abdominal side belt member and the back side belt member.
