The disclosure relates to a method for producing an aldehyde of the formula (III) which are further used in the preparation of substituted 5-fluoro-1H-pyrazolopyridines. The substituted 5-fluoro-1H-pyrazolopyridines are suitable as an intermediate for producing medicaments, in particular medicaments for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of cardiovascular disorders.
