In order to provide an increased fit and comfort in the waist area an area of a height (a) of at least 5 mm, as seen in the longitudinal (y) direction of the article, adjacent said waist edge ( 22 ) of the chassis, is free from reinforcing elastic element(s) ( 14 a) along at least a substantial part of the circumference of said waist edge along which the elastic waistband ( 7 ) extends.
