PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair treatment agent which can impart excellent smooth feeling such that fingers slide from roots of hair to edges of the hair, and can suppress a feeling such that hands are stained with a powder raw material.SOLUTION: The invention provides a hair treatment agent used in such a way that the hair treatment agent is applied to the hair then it is washed away. The hair treatment agent contains a cationic surface active agent, a higher alcohol, and a powder raw material. The powder raw material contains octenyl succinic acid corn starch Al, kaolin, or lauroyl lysine. The powder raw material preferably contains octenyl succinic acid corn starch Al. As a compounding amount of the powder raw material, 0.1 or more mass% is preferable.
