PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by automating a target region extraction process when extracting both of target regions to be paired from an image.

SOLUTION: This target region extraction device sets an optional point in one target region of the target regions to be paired in the image, calculates the location of a predetermined point in the other target region of the target regions to be paired based on anatomical information indicating the position relationship of the target region paired with the set optional point, determines a presence range where one target region may be present in the image using the set optional point and a possible dimension of the one target region, determines a presence range where the other target region may be present in the image using the location of the calculated predetermined point and a possible dimension of the other target region, and extracts the target regions to be paired from the image based on the set optional point, the location of the calculated predetermined point, a point outside the presence range of the determined one target region and a point outside the presence range of the determined other target region.
