Systems and methods for photoacoustic imaging are provided. Photoacoustic signals are excited from a body and the excited photoacoustic signals are detected with a low coherence interferometer system serving as a photoacoustic detector. Cross-sectional images of the body are then reconstructed by the system from the detected photoacoustic signals.Linvention concerne des systèmes et des procédés destinés à limagerie photoacoustique. Des signaux photoacoustiques sont produits par excitation à partir dun corps et les signaux photoacoustiques produits par excitation sont détectés par un système interférométrique à faible cohérence servant de détecteur photoacoustique. Des images de coupes transversales du corps sont ensuite reconstruites par le système à partir des signaux photoacoustiques détectés.
