PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image appropriate to imaging diagnosis regardless of the kind of tissues of a photographed part when obtaining a desired tomographic image by interpolation from a three-dimensional image.SOLUTION: An image generator generates a desired tomographic image from a three-dimensional image comprising a plurality of continuous tomographic images obtained by a tomographic apparatus laminated in a slice direction by interpolation processing, and is provided with decision means which decides interpolation processing for calculating a pixel value of a pixel to be generated in the tomographic image in accordance with pixel values of a plurality of pixels positioned near the pixel to be generated among pixels constituting the three-dimensional image.
