PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinegar of which the acid taste with a pungent smell inherent to acetic acid is mitigated, and a food product using the same.SOLUTION: In measurement of the flavor components of the vinegar by solid phase micro extraction-gas chromatography mass analysis, the vinegar includes 0.01 to 0.5 ppb of &bgr-damascenone, with a &bgr-damascenone content of 0.00015 to 0.003 parts relative to 1 part of phenethyl alcohol.
