An absorbent article, preferably an incontinence pant-like diaper, having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis, comprising: a chassis including a skin-facing side, a garment-facing side opposite to the skin-facing side, a front waist region, a back waist region and a crotch region extending between said front and back waist regions； a liquid-absorbent member having front and back ends extending across the crotch region (5) into the front and back waist regions, the liquid-absorbent member including a liquid-absorbing core, the liquid-absorbing core having front and back ends； and an elastic web material contractibly connectable to at least each of the front and back waist regions under tension in the transverse axis, wherein the front and back waist regions comprise front and back waist ends, and are joinable to each other along lateral edges of the front and back waist regions extending along a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis and wherein, when joined, a waist-opening is formed by the front and back waist ends and a pair of leg-openings are formed by one or more crotch-leg-peripheral-edges and front and back waist-leg-peripheral-edges, and wherein first and second front waist-leg-peripheral-edges extend from a first position proximal to the crotch region to a second position distal therefrom and proximal to a lateral edge of the front waist region, said first and second front waist-leg-peripheral-edges being oppositely disposed from the longitudinal axis and defining a first area therebetween, and wherein first and second back waist-leg-peripheral-edges extend from a first position proximal to the crotch region to a second position distal therefrom and proximal to a lateral edge of the back waist region, said first and second back waist-leg-peripheral-edges being oppositely disposed from the longitudinal axis and defining a second area therebetween, said first and second areas being separated by at least a portion of the crotch region along the long
