The invention relates to a composition comprising (i) an isolate of guarana plant, (ii) an isolate of ginkgo biloba plant or functional analogue thereof and (iii) fruit sugars, for use in ameliorating, inhibiting or reducing post lunch dip, wherein the composition is administered at least once daily for a period of at least 7 days. The invention further provides a composition comprising an isolate of guarana plant and at least one of (i) isolate of ginkgo biloba plant or functional analogue thereof and (ii) fruit sugars, the composition being for use in providing an awaking effect and specifically affecting post lunch dip on a subject without exhibiting a detected effect on the subjects heart activity.
