A liquid vaporizer assembly 101 comprising a liquid container 102 operable to contain a vapourising liquid 104 therein, a wick element 106, partly immersed in the vaporising liquid, and a heating element 108 operable to heat the vaporising liquid and housed inside the wick element. The liquid may be an insect repellant. Preferably the heating element is positioned above the liquid. The heating element may comprise pulsed operation. The heating element may be operated using inductive heating. A microcontroller may be included which controls the rate of vaporization and comprises a temperature or geoposition sensor to determine when to turn the vaporiser on an off.
