PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inside observation device and an inside observation method enabling the detection with high contrast of information about an observation target which may exist in the inside of an article having light-scattering performance.SOLUTION: The inside observation device includes: an illumination means 11 for irradiating the article 20 having light-scattering performance with light containing a wavelength different in optical characteristics between the article 20 and the observation target 21 which may exist in the inside of the article a detecting means 12 for contactlessly receiving a backward scattering light 19 of the illumination light 18 to acquire optical strength data a signal processing means 13 for applying predetermined computation processing by using optical strength data in a specific detection area to output as image generating data in a central point of an irradiation spot of the illumination light 18 on the surface of the article 20 an image forming means 14 for analyzing the image generating data to generate an image and a display means 15 for displaying the generated image.
