PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmomanometer allowing a subject to be measured to wear an arm belt section in the right direction to an upper arm and measuring a correct blood pressure by easily preventing the subject to be measured from inversely wearing the arm belt section to the upper arm by mistake, and to improve the wearing feeling of the arm belt section when measuring the blood pressure by easily adapting the arm belt section to the shape of the outer peripheral part of the upper arm.SOLUTION: This sphygmomanometer 1 includes the arm belt section 2 that has a prescribed outer peripheral length, is foldable and is worn around the upper arm of the subject to be measured. An outer cloth 16 constituting the arm belt section 2 is formed of a material that is nonflexible in the circumferential direction and the longitudinal direction and at least the interior of the arm belt part 2 stores a blood-flow cutoff air bag 14 that is adapted to cut off the blood flow of the upper arm T when being worn around the upper arm T.
