Each of the produced egg warehouse (4) and the sorted egg warehouse (5) includes article preserving shelves (40,50) having plural stages (43,53) in which the eggs are preserved. The warehouses constitute a partition wall around the sorting apparatus to form a sorting space appropriate for sorting eggs. The sorting facilities may include an arrival section (1) at which the produced eggs (Ep) arrive, a sorting section (2) provided with the sorting apparatus (22), and a shipping section (3) that ships the sorted eggs (Es). The produced egg warehouse (4) may be a wall separating the arrival section (1) and the sorting section (2). The sorted egg warehouse (5) may be a wall separating the sorting section (2) and the shipping section (3).
