A medicament dispensing mechanism is disclosed that is configured to ejectsuccessive doses of the medicament from a medicament chamber. An embodiment ofthedis-pensing mechanism includes a housing and a plunger rod configured forejecting the doses ofmedicament from the chamber. The dispensing mechanism further includes anactuationmech-anism that comprises a trigger associated with the housing and having aready and a firedposi-tion with respect thereto. The trigger is configured for manipulation bya user for successivemovement in a generally axial dosing motion from the ready position to thefired position inwhich the trigger is associated with the plunger rod to cause the plunger rodto eject one of thedoses of a predetermined volume and a resetting motion from the fired positionto the readyposition that comprises axial rotation, wherein the trigger is uncoupled fromthe plunger rodduring the resetting motion.
