In some embodiments, a medical devicemay include one or more of the following features: (a) ametal fabric formed of braided metal strands, (b) the medicaldevice having a collapsed configuration for deliverythrough a channel in a patient's body and having a generallydumbbell-shaped expanded configuration with twoexpanded diameter portions separated by a reduced diameterportion formed between opposed ends of the device andunsecured metal strand ends at the opposed ends, and (d) athrombogenic agent located on the metal fabric.
