A gear train for a power harrow having improved gear life comprises a first shaft (101) a transmission gear (104) a receiving gear (105) a second shaft (106) a third bearing (108) a spacer (107) a fourth bearing (110) a pinion (109) a crown wheel (111) a third shaft (112) and a gear unit (113). The gear unit (113) receives rotational energy from the first shaft (101) through the third shaft (112), wherein the gear unit (113) is coupled with the third shaft (112). Position of the pinion (109) and the spacer (107) is interchangeable. Interchanging position of the spacer (107) and the pinion (109) changes the direction of output rotational energy. Due to this change in direction, both faces of gear teeth of the plurality of gears (114) is utilised. Thus increases life and reduces wear rate of the plurality of gears (114) of the gear train.
