PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary brake that enables a wheelchair to be carried by releasing brake force and rotating the tires, and to provide a wheelchair equipped with this auxiliary brake.SOLUTION: The auxiliary brake includes: a swing arm member 12 that is provided freely approaching to and separating from the lower face of a sheet-like seat part 2 a cam member that postures for biting the periphery of a tire to prevent the tire from rotating when a user begins to stand up from the sheet-like seat part 2, and that postures for receding from the periphery of the tire to allow the tire to rotate when the user is sitting on the sheet-like seat part 2 or when the seat part 2 is folded and a wire member 16 that connects between the swing arm member 12 and the cam member.
