Handle shaft is flange-mounted or can be flange-mounted to the handle. In the handle there is a tool receiving element, for selectively receiving a rotatably mounted surgical tool or a surgical tool which can be rotatably mounted therein for axially securing the tool in the tool receiving element and for transferring torque to the tool. Tool receiving element comprises one at least partially sleeve-shaped drive shaft. Drive shaft comprises a proximal insertion area for a torsion shaft and distal torque transmission areas and axial locking areas for the tool. Torque transmission area is distal to the axial locking area. Tool receiving element comprises a closing sleeve surrounding the drive shaft rotationally and displacably. Closuring sleeve comprises a distal blocking section interacting with the axial locking region of the drive shaft for axially locking and releasing the tool, and a proximal stopping section.
