An antibiofilm composition comprising at least one quorum sensing inhibitor, at least one iron-chelating agent and at least one antimicrobial agent. The quorum sensing inhibitor may be selected from the set of nitro-pyridine N-oxide, pyridine N-oxide, polypyridine N-oxide, and its copolymers, synthetic or natural peptides, sulphur based compounds such as S-phenyl-L-cysteine sulfoxide and diphenylsulphide, meta-bromo-thiolactone. The iron-chelating agent may be selected from EDTA, HEDTA, DTPA, phytic acid, citric acid, oxalic acid, tartaric acid, galatonic acid and their salts, esters, acid chlorides, anhydrides, sodium pyrophosphate, pyridoxal isocotinoyl hydrazine, oxachelin or curcumin. The antimicrobial may be selected from silver, copper, zinc and their salts, silver sulfadiazine, iodine, povidone-iodine, cedexomer-iodine, chlorohexidine gluconate, chloramine T, quaternary ammonium salts, PHMB or ceragenin. The composition may further comprise at least one extra-cellular polymer disrupting agent, such agents may be xylitol, lactoferrin, citric acid or a surfactant. The antibiofilm composition may be used as a component of a wound cleaner composition, which further comprises optionally a surfactant or an agent that disrupts an extra-cellular polymer substance. A wound dressing is also provided comprising a wound contacting article and the antibiofilm composition provided applied to the wound contacting article.
